This graphic designer is illustrating one important person in LGBTQ history every day in June for Pride. Day 5 of the aptly titled 30 Days of Pride series featured Miss Major, a trans woman activist and Executive Director Emeritus of the Transgender, Gender Variant, and Intersex Justice Project. Miss Major, who was at the Stonewall uprising in 1969, is ready to retire. You can donate to her GoFundMe, if you so choose. (And yes, it’s legit.)

Calling all androgynous beauties! This Tumblr has opened their submission box to you. They post dozens of submitted OOTD photos. They feature tomboys, queer boys, androgynous gender non-conforming, non binary people—every style, gender, and sexuality descriptor under the sun. Don’t feel up to posting a picture of yourself? You can always follow it as a lookbook for fashion inspo.

Discovering LGBTQ History (@lgbtqarchives)

From the desk of the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration comes STONEWALL@NARA. @lgbtqarchives is a repository for documents reflecting the history of American LGBTQ+ people from 1778 to now. Some of it is inspiring, much of it is harrowing, all of it tells a story.

Queer Portraits in History (@queersinhistory)

Illustrator Michele Rosenthal (@dialmformichele) is using her artistic talent to honor prominent figures in the LGBTQ+ community. That little circle above showcases the Mother of Blues, Ma Rainey. She recorded over 100 albums in a mere five years. In one song, Prove it On Me, she made it clear she wasn’t ashamed of who she was: “Went out last night with a crowd of my friends / They must’ve been women, ‘cause I don’t like no men.” Considering it was recorded in 1928, it was a particularly bold statement.

This legacy project uses storytelling to signal boost the voices of a community that needs it: Latino and Afro-Latino gay, queer, and trans men. It sheds light on individuals whose sexuality and ethnicity often means they are facing a disproportionate amount of scrutiny. These stories are uplifting, they’re normalizing, and they’re so needed.

Over the next 30 days, we are actively encouraging you to share your LGBTQ+ pride with all of Tumblr. You deserve to be proud of who you are 365 days a year, but these next 30 days, we’re going all out. There’s no wrong way to do it. Upload an illustration. Write a poem. Make a GIF. Take a selfie and slap a Pride sticker on it. Maybe send a sticker to a friend. These precious babies are in your app right now:

My Kid is Gay (@mykidsgay)

If you’re a kid who just came out to your parents (or you want to soon), think about sending them to this nice informational hub. It was created by the same people behind fan-favorite Everyone is Gay (@everyoneisgay). We hope your parents support you no matter what and love you unconditionally always. If you can, let them know educating themselves can go a long way, too—especially if they’ve never been exposed to conversation around queer culture.

The Advocate (@theadvocatemag)

The Advocate was founded in 1967. They’re celebrating 50 years of continuous publication, 50 years of fighting for what is right, 50 years of making sure you stay in the know. Give this downright historic publication a follow to interject a little news on your dashboard.

Queer Kid Stuff (@queerkidstuff)

One piece of advice I’d give to my younger self would be “do not try to fit in and be like everyone else, because you are fucking special!”

We’re celebrating those who came out as children, those who came out as adults, and those who will never feel safe coming out because of their families, religion, government, or any reason at all. We’re celebrating those who have been a beacon of light and hope for others, and those who have needed to seek out those lights. Whether you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, asexual, pansexual, gender non-conforming or anywhere else on the limitless sexuality and gender spectrums, you deserve to be celebrated. No matter how you identify, no matter how out and open (or not) you are, you are valid. You are appreciated. You are loved. You are part of this #TumblrPride community right here on Tumblr.

One of the more endearing, necessary functions of a healthy community is the support it offers—and gosh, the queer community on Tumblr is certainly supportive and deserves to be highlighted. That’s why we gathered a handful of prominent LGBTQ+ artists and asked them what kind of advice they’ve received, and what they’d like to pass on to others.

**How do you express yourself on a day-to-day basis?**
By starting each morning with three pages of free writing. By giving myself permission to doodle just because. Not for anyone, just for myself and I’m learning the idea that my worth isn’t rooted in how much money I make.
**What is the relationship between your art and your identity?**
My identity and my art are inextricably linked…you can’t really divorce one from the other. My art and my creative process is a way for me to learn more about myself; To tease apart my identity and to heal.
**What advice would you give your younger self about exploring your identity?**
Not worry about pleasing people all the time, not worry about societal expectations, and to listen to her intuition. If I had learned that sooner, I think I would have had a different life.

Today’s interview is pretty special. It comes from none other than one of the most successful artists of all time…

**What advice would you give your younger self about exploring your identity?**
My advice would be not to try to be someone or something I wasn’t, but to really understand and accept myself for who I am and to love myself. Then to find people who would genuinely love me for who I am.
**How do you express your gender identity on a day-to-day basis?**
My gender identity is as much about being a loving husband, a good parent, and a loyal friend as it is about being gay. I want people to realize that first and foremost we are all people.
**What’s the most challenging part of exploring and expressing gender and orientation in today’s society? What gives you hope?**
The most challenging part is still superficial judgements about what gender identity means. These are spread through the media, and sadly sometimes by religion or politics. People want to control or punish what is different. But I’m hopeful because all over the world, more people are feeling the courage to express who they are and more are being accepted. Young people care much less about sexuality than their parents.
**What’s an important moment in LGBTQ history that’s important for LGBTQ youth to understand?**
I think the Stonewall riots. They were the first demonstrations by the LGBTQ community against a police raid that took place in Greenwich Village in the U.S. in the early hours of June 28th 1969. They really catalyzed the liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the whole world.
**What is the biggest change in the LGBTQ experience that you’ve noticed over the past 10 years? What work needs to be done to continue progress in the right direction?**
Gay marriage…respecting love between two people as love, in countries as previously resistant as the UK, Ireland, Australia, is a huge change. We need laws and policies that first and foremost treat LGBTQ people as citizens like everyone else so that their human rights are protected—in the family, at work, in society.
**What advice would you give to LGBTQ youth trying to find their way in the world?**
Remember that change can and does happen. Not overnight, but it does happen. Don’t ever give up on yourself. Take care of yourself and don’t ever doubt that change is possible.
