Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression level of interleukin 8(IL-8)and interleukin-10(IL-10)in lumbar protrustion, and analyze its correlation with nerve root pain. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 78 cases of patients with lumbar disc prolapse who were admitted from September 2014 to December 2016.According to the degree of lumbar disc, patients were divided into the observation group A(uplift type),the observation group B(outstanding type),and observation group C(free type);at the same time, another 18 cases who underwent lumbar fracture surgery were in the control group. The expression level of IL-8 and IL-10 in lumbar protrusion was detected and the its correlation with nerve root pain was analyzed. Results Compared with the control group, the expression level of IL-8 and IL-10 in the observation group A to C was significantly higher(P<0.05);furthermore,the expression level of IL-8 and IL-10 increased with the degree of lumbar disc aggravated(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in patients of observation groups with different degrees of herniated and nerve root pain VAS score(P>0.05);expression level of IL-8 and IL-10 was positively correlated with nerve root pain VAS score. Conclusion The expression level of IL-8 and IL-10 in lumbar protrusion is higher than that of normal,it increases with the degree of lumbar disc aggravates, and has a certain correlation with nerve root pain.
