New footage of Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 from D23 confirms the Disney sequel includes Star Wars and Marvel characters. Since its creation in 1923, Walt Disney Animation Studios has put out a number of beloved theatrical films enchanting moviegoers young and old. Though the Mouse House is perhaps most well known for their Disney Princess movies, the studio has released plenty of hits focused on non-royal characters. One such film is 2012's Wreck-It Ralph, which told the story of video game villain Ralph (John C. Reilly) who leaves his game in order to find somewhere he belongs - somewhere he can feel like a hero.

On his journey, he comes across Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) a fellow outsider from a different game, and the pair form an unlikely friendship. By the end of Wreck-It Ralph, both Ralph and Vanellope have found a sense of belonging in their respective games, but the dynamic duo will return for another adventure in Ralph Breaks the Internet. During the Disney/Pixar animation panel at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, Disney debuted new footage from Ralph Breaks the Internet, confirming certain other Disney-owned properties will appear.

The folks in attendance of the Disney/Pixar panel were treated to a first look scene from Ralph Breaks the Internet, which sees Ralph and Vanellope travel through the internet to the website Oh My Disney. In their travels, the run across famous Star Wars droid C-3PO and Stormtroopers as well as a booth that turns characters into members of the Avengers or Marvel Comics' icon Stan Lee.

Given these descriptions, it sounds as though the scene is set in a location similar to Wreck-It Ralph's Game Central Station, the hub where characters from each of the games in the arcade could meet or travel to other games. The Game Central Station scene offered filmmakers a fantastic opportunity to throw in Easter eggs from other Disney properties as well as classic video games. Something similar may be what occurs in Ralph Breaks the Internet, but this time with the filmmakers going all in on Disney-owned properties like Star Wars and Marvel.

Of course, we do know that Vanellope's interaction with the Disney Princess characters is a little bit more extensive, and is likely more akin to Ralph's Bad-Anon meeting in the original film. While fans of all the classic Disney Princesses will be excited to see them appear together on screen - and brought to life by their original voice actresses - it's unclear whether the Marvel and Star Wars character will get similarly extensive cameos.

Based on reports out of D23, it may be that viewers will only get brief glimpses of C-3PO and Stan Lee as Ralph and Vanellope explore the internet. Still, with so many beloved properties existing under the Disney umbrella, it's certainly exciting to see the animation studio reference such popular franchises as Star Wars and Marvel - and it seems Ralph Breaks the Internet uses the opportunity to bring some humor. For those hoping to see these cameos for themselves, the studio likely won't release the Ralph Breaks the Internet footage from D23, so fans may have to wait some time before getting a glimpse of the Star Wars and Marvel characters in Disney's Wreck-It Ralph sequel
