Here’s a look at what’s open and closed for the Canada Day long weekend.

LIQUOR MARTS

Most Winnipeg and Brandon Liquor Mart stores will extend hours on Thursday, staying open until 11 p.m.  However, Cityplace Liquor Mart will close at 7 p.m., the Main and Pritchard store will close at 9 p.m., and the Hargrave and Ellice location will close at 10 p.m., as will the Tyndall Market Liquor Mart.

Winnipeg and Brandon Liquor Marts will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Canada Day. All Liquor Mart Express stores, as well as the Cityplace location will be closed.

Hours will vary at Liquor Marts in rural locations, with some stores extending hours over the long weekend.

Regular hours resume at all Liquor Marts on Sunday.

CF Polo Park

Kildonan Place

Saturday, July 1 – closed

SWIMMING POOLS

All indoor swimming pools will be closed on Saturday, July 1.

Weather permitting, all outdoor swimming pools will be open on Saturday, July 1, except for the Westdale and Happyland pools.

WADING POOLS 

14 of the city's wading pools will open July 1, weather permitting.

SPRAY PADS

Spray pads throughout the city will be open on Saturday, July 1. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

WINNIPEG TRANSIT

Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Canada Day.

LEISURE CENTRES

Fort Rouge Leisure Centre and St. James Civic Centre

Saturday, July 1 - closed

Sunday, July 2 - open

Monday, July 3 - open

All other leisure centres will be closed on Monday, July 3. Regular hours of operation resume on Tuesday, July 4.

LIBRARIES

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Saturday, July 1 and Monday, July 3.

WINNIPEG PARKING AUTHORITY

Hours of operation for the Winnipeg Parking Authority for the long weekend are as follows:

Friday, June 30: Regular hours - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, July 1: Closed

Sunday, July 2: Closed

Monday, July 3: Closed

Tuesday, July 4: Regular hours - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

*On-Street parking is free on Sundays and holidays including Canada Day.

GOLF COURSES

The following golf courses are open all weekend:

Crescent Drive

Harbour View

John Blumberg

Kildonan Park

Windsor Park

All courses open at 6 a.m.

STREET CLOSURES

Osborne Street from River to McMillan avenues at Confusion Corner will be closed to traffic for the Osborne Village Street Festival starting Friday at 6 p.m. until midnight on Canada Day. Stradbrook, Wardlaw and Gertrude avenues will also be closed between Nassau and Scott streets, however pedestrians can still walk through.

For the Canada Day Living Flag event, Portage Avenue East will be closed Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon between Main and Westbrook streets. Portage Avenue will also be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. between Fort and Main streets. Main Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. between McDermot and Pioneer avenues.

In Transcona, Regent Avenue West will be closed Saturday from Bond Street to Day Street from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Transcona Biz Canada Day celebrations. Pedestrian access will still be allowed.
