Lifetime points are missing from the profile section of the website and show as 0 in the Marriott mobile app. However, you may be able to use the work-around referenced in this blog post to see your current Lifetime Points.

You can still view your lifetime points online with the following steps:
  1. Go to www.marriott.com and login
  2. Go to https://www.marriott.com/rewards/rewards-program.mi
  3. Click "Nights"
See screenshot of what to click.

If you call Marriott they can also tell you your lifetime points balance.

http://www.marriott.com/marriott/rew...te-benefits.mi As of 20 May, this process does not work. There is no link called "Night Detail" on this page.

To check lifetime balances: (HT to txpenny)
1. Click "Night Detail".
2. Click "Learn More" (under the night total)
3. Click "Marriott Rewards Overview". At this point you're probably no longer logged in (because you've been thrown to an older version of the Marriott website), so log in again.
4. Click "Nights" under your current year's nights. -> The detail you're expecting showing LT nights and points will show up like before.

Lifetime Silver Elite:
250 qualified nights
1.2 million points

Lifetime Gold Elite
500 qualified nights
1.6 million points

Lifetime Platinum Elite
750 qualified nights
2.0 million points

To check your point and night balance, log into your account and click My Account > Account Overview > Nights.

"Elite Lifetime Status is determined by your total qualified nights stayed and points earned throughout the course of your membership – including your paid nights, Elite rollover nights, meeting nights and the nights and points earned on your Marriott Rewards Credit Card."

Points used by members to buyback their previously attained Elite level will be permanently deducted from their Lifetime point balance.

If an elite's point level drops below that required for the level attained, they will drop down to the next Lifetime level until points are accumulated to get them back to the next level.

Lifetime points in addition to nights now display on your Marriott Rewards account. When logged in, click on "Nights" (the blue link below the number representing your current year nights). You'll see the detail of what comprises your current year nights as well as your Lifetime Status nights.

No, the entire points cost of the package counts as a redemption.

If the points are coming out to purchase the package, no, it's just a normal redemption. However, if the points are being transferred to another account to make up the required points, then a reduction of lifetime points may occur just like an increase should occur if points are being transferred into your account to reach the requirement.

Were you taking airline frequent flyer miles instead of MR points during those stays? That would explain the gap.

So I am LT Silver and have been for a while, currently Plat and have been for a while. I have close to 900 nights, but only about 1.5 million points. Sorry, all out-of-pocket stays, no reimbursement, so I go for cheap.

Modest proposal, if you hit 1000 nights you get LT Plat anyway.

I don't think MR are treating this forum as a suggestion box. That said, have you signed up for the credit cards within the past 24 months to boost your points balance? Since you seem to stay frequently (ie, you have plat status) have you been registering for the promos and squeezing in enough nights to earn the bonuses?

At 1.6 million points you'll make LT Gold, anyway.

Based on 10 points/dollar brands or 5 points/dollar brands?

Maybe he's mostly (a) staying at 5 points/dollar brands, and (b) not using MegaBonus promos effectively (for example, not signing up, or getting free night certs versions of promos and not asking to be bumped up to a better promo, or not having the stays be mostly during promo periods), and (c) asking for something other than points as the check-in bonus (or doing long stays which only give one check-in bonus per stay).

If you are a million points out, your first step should be how do you first get 600k points to obtain LT Silver first. Baby steps

It seems extremely likely that Marriott and Starwood will merge. So think about getting an SPG Amex personal and an SPG Amex business card. At the current offers, you'll get 25k bonus each (plus the minimum send, which is higher than for most other cards, will get you another 3k to 5k each). So you'll end up with 58k to 60k SPG points, which best guess will convert at least 1:2 to Marriott points, and thus in a couple years you'll have an extra 120k points or so once the points from the programs merge. (You just missed some better 36k offers by a few weeks. Those may or may not repeat later this year.)

Of course, whether you still those points by then is anyone's guess. Marriott has change the lifetime elite requirements several times in recent years, and may change them once again to better mesh with SPG's, which have a years-at-status requirement but no points requirement. But as to this, we can only speculate, no one knows yet.

Yep, spend $50,000 at Marriott properties as a plat on your MR card.

Unfortunately, the giants bonuses of a few years ago (like 50,000 points for 5 nights at a Ritz) are long gone.

Woohoo - LT Silver!

I guess you take what you can get when you're given it.

With the 15K bonus points from Megabonus C. I'm now at 561 nights and 1,202,007 points!

Of course since I had joined MR back in 1996, longevity in the program was originally important to them. Unfortunately, that's not a criterion any more.

I'll likely hit the 750 nights before I make 1.6M points - in order to make it to LT Gold; so LT Platinum is still far off (2M points).

Going to celebrate my 12th year in the program later this year. I'll finally meet all the old LTP qualifications!

I hope you understand that was a "proposal" and not part of the program, at least today.
