Arms’ championship finals makes for riveting viewing

Also a game dev exhibition match

Nintendo held the first ever Arms Open Invitations tournament at E3 this week and the nail-biting finale proved that the game has a solid chance at becoming an esport.

The 2017 Arms Open Invitational had four expert gamers compete in a single-elimination tournament against four E3 attendees, who each qualified for the tournament that day in the Nintendo booth.

The winner received a 2017 Arms Open Invitational Belt and a chance to face-off against the Kosuke Yabuki, the producer of ARMS, in an exhibition match.

Make sure you watch the best of five tournament, which pitted player Zerk against player Skywardwing, with one controlling Twintelle and the other Ribbon Girl.

Then stick around for the exhibition match to see if the best Arms player can defeat Yabuki.

Arms hits the Nintendo Switch tomorrow, June 16 for $60. You can read our review of Nintendo’s unusual fighter right here and then drop in your thoughts on the game as an esports title.
