This Filipino Dish Is About To Be Everywhere, Says Anthony Bourdain

Filipinos know what's up.

These days, it's common to find great internationally-inspired food — from Mexican, to Italian, to Chinese — just about everywhere in the U.S.

But some might say there's another type of cuisine — Filipino food — that hasn't quite reached the same level of ubiquity.

According to TV show host and tattoo enthusiast Anthony Bourdain, one dish is about to change that.

It's called sisig, and in a recently-aired interview with CNN Philippines, Bourdain says it's poised to become your new favorite food.

If you've never heard of it, sisig is a dish traditionally made with pork parts (often the head and liver), onions, chiles, and egg.

Bourdain describes it as "sizzling, crispy, sticky, delicious bits of pork with many textures."

If you're interested in more Filipino food, Bourdain names adobo (meat, veggies, or seafood marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic) and sinigang (sweet & sour soup) as other favorites of his.
