Swansea City boss Paul Clement is clearly putting his Chelsea connections to good use.

While the Swans got close, but eventually missed out on new Aston Villa signing John Terry , they are close to landing prodigious striker Tammy Abraham on loan.

And now Clement, a former youth coach and assistant with the west London club, is targeting young Chelsea starlet Nathaniel Chalobah, according to reports.

Chalobah and Abraham lined up for England Under-21s as they reached the semi-finals in Poland

The Mirror are claiming that England Under-21 central midfielder Chalobah is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, with the Swans named along with Leicester City and Watford.

The 22-year-old is entering the final year of his Blues contract and — and a series of loan moves — could finally be ready to depart Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading and Napoli are among Chalobah's loan clubs.

He lined up alongside Swansea's Alfie Mawson and incoming loan signing Abraham as the Young Lions were knocked out by Germany in the Under-21 European Championship semi-finals.

Chalobah spent most of last season on the Chelsea bench, making just one Premier League start for Antonio Conte's league winners. N'golo Kante and Nemanja Matic were preferred in midfield by the Italian.

And with Chelsea set to announce the arrival of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, the report claims the way will be paved for Chalobah to leave.
