'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' deaths: All the ex-competitors who unexpectedly passed away

Bachelor Nation is in mourning following news of Michael Nance's unexpected death on Memorial Day 2017. The 31-year-old, who competed for Emily Maynard's heart in season eight of "The Bachelorette," was adored by his castmates: "He was a sweet man with a kind soul," tweeted Sean Lowe, who went on to star on his own season of "The Bachelor."

Unfortunately, Nance is only the latest in a string of past competitors to die at a disturbingly young age. He joins a list of other "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" alums who tragically died, with causes of death everywhere from suicide to plane crash.
