As the body positive movement on Instagram continues to grow, more and more fitness bloggers are jumping on board.

One such blogger, Stacey Lee has recently posted a photo – and it’s gone viral.

Stacey, a psychologist, said that she wants to turn her Instagram account into a platform for body positivity and show the “reality” behind #fitspo posts.

Stacey recently posted the same picture of herself in a bikini side by side.

The picture on the left showed Stacey before photoshop and the one on the right after photoshop.

In the aforementioned image, Stacey has made her waist smaller, added a filter, smoothed cellulite and made her bum bigger.

She captioned the image: “How many times have you looked at a photo of yourself and thought negatively about it?

“How many times have you compared yourself to the models in the magazine, or more likely, the 'models' on Instagram and social media and thought 'nope I don't look like that’?”

“Subconsciously we are primed to find certain body types more acceptable. This can be very subtle changes to photographs seen on a daily basis. But these small changes resonate deeply within our minds.”

She added that these images shape the way we think we should look and creates unrealistic comparisons.

The post has since gone viral and garnered 15,000 likes.

In a separate post, Stacey said: “As soon as I stopped following accounts that used photoshop, professional images, constant filters, and altered their images, my self esteem improved.

“Being able to see real women share their real bodies, which still look incredible! Gave me the confidence to work for my realistic goals.”
