Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which rose 3.03% or 0.300 points to trade at 10.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) added 2.06% or 0.12 points to end at 6.19 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 1.69% or 0.41 points to 24.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which fell 3.62% or 0.1280 points to trade at 3.4100 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 3.13% or 0.86 points to end at 26.66 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was down 2.97% or 0.14 points to 4.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 267 to 96 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.62% or 0.1280 to 3.4100.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.49% or 0.22 to $44.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.55% or 19.72 to trade at $1256.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1146, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 97.48.
