Welfare for company execs, one gotta love Japan.
The execs will be quitting with a large package while the average taro and
hanako are doomed to a life of konnyaku and moyashi.

I would be more concerned if they were allowed to continue with their horrible track record.

Oh please stop this. If everytime something bad happens to a stale old company in Japan tax payers have to fund "safety nets" we'll only become even more pointlessly indebted than we already are.
What happens when a bad company goes down is it goes bust, and the people who worked there need to find a new, more productive use for their labour. It's not easy. But this is the way it has to be, and what is unemployment insurance for in the first place? Additional safety nets are not required.
