Cardiff is ready to welcome Robbie Williams when he unleashes his hits on the Welsh capital at the Principality Stadium today (Wednesday June 21).

There will be heightened security measures in the light of the recent terror attacks and all concert goers are encouraged to make their way into the Welsh capital gig with plenty of time to spare.

Gates open at 5pm, with support act Erasure coming on at 7pm and Robbie Williams at 8.30pm.

And here is all the info you need to know about public transport and where to park if you are driving.

Are there are road closures around the stadium that night?

There will be a full city centre road closure from 6:00pm – 11:30pm.

For a full road closure the following roads are closed:

  • Kingsway from its junction with North Rd to its junction with Duke St.

  • Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.

  • Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)

  • Plantagenet St and Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)

  • Saunders Road from its junction with St Mary Street

  • Customhouse Street throughout its length (access to private car parks will be permitted)

  • Penarth Road from its junction with Saunders Road to the entrance leading into the rear of the Central Train Station

  • The following roads will be closed in their entirety: - Duke St, Castle St, High St, St.Mary St, Caroline St, Wood St, Central Sq, Westgate St, Quay St, Guildhall Pl, Golate, Park St, Havelock St and Scott Rd.

What about public transport?

Park & Ride:

There is a Park & Ride facility at Cardiff City Stadium in Leckwith which is 1.5 miles (10-15 mins) from the city centre.

To get there: Access from Junction 33 of the M4, then follow signage to site

Drop Off Point: Tresillian Way North, at rear of Railway Station

Cost: £8 pre book online or £10 payable on the day at the car park (cash only)

Getting There: Exit Junction 32 of M4

Cost: £15 payable on the day at the car park (cash only)

Parking time: Car Park opens 8am and closes 12am (Midnight).

Civic Centre Event Day Parking (Cars)

Getting There: Exit Junction 32 of M4, head South on A470 towards City Centre and follow signage to Civic Centre

Cost: £12 Pre-Book Online or £15 payable on the day at the car park (cash only)

Parking time: Car Park opens 8am and closes 12am (Midnight).

Disabled drivers should use the Sophia Gardens site.

  • NCP – Adam Street, Dumfries Place and Greyfriars Road

What about public transport?

If you're coming by train:

Cardiff Central Station: There will be a queuing system in place for this event, you are advised to visit Arriva Trains Wales' website for more information. We strongly advise you identify your queuing lane for your return journey before you attend the event.

Queen Street Station will close just before the end so you have to use Cardiff Central.

If you're coming by bus:

Buses will be diverted out of the central city centre bus stops. Bus displaced from stops within the closure will relocate to either Churchill Way for the East. Greyfriars Road for the North or Tudor Street for the West.

Diversions - a list of which you can see here - will be put in place between the hours of 4pm to 12am on 21 June, 30 June, 11 July and 12 July.
