Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical value of MRI on the diagnosis of hypoxie-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in neonates. Methods A retrospective analysis was made on the clinical classification of the 97 patients who had been diagnosed as HIE,and the obtained results were compared with those of the MRI diagnostic classification. Results The MRI diagnostic classification was basically identical to that of clinical classification.Significant positive correlations could be found, when comparisons were made between the 2 (r =0.998,P < 0.01).Conclusion MRI detection results were more direct and reliable, which could play an important role in clinical diagnosis of HIE in neonates.
