President Donald Trump announced Monday he will nominate Wisconsin businessman Steve King as ambassador to the Czech Republic, according to the Associated Press.
The Journal Sentinel had reported in late May that Trump had been considering the 75-year-old Janesville man with a long history of activism in the Republican Party for the position.
King joins Mark Green and Callista Gingrich as Wisconsin natives who have been picked by Trump to serve in Washington, D.C., pending Senate confirmation.
Trump also announced he will nominate former Treasury official Randal Quarles to the Federal Reserve board, and Lew Eisenburg as the next ambassador to Italy, the Associated Press reported.
