Hi everyone,
I have joined this site as I am in shock really, and want to find out as much info as I can about vaping in Australia,so if anyone out there can advise me, I would appreciate it.
I have been living in the Uk for the last 18 months, and I am returning home to Australia in a couple of weeks.
I am 55 and have been a chronic diehard smoker since my 20s. Tried everything to quit to no avail. UNTIL I gave the vaping thing a shot and wow!! I am no longer a smoker. I am sooo proud of myself and feel 100% better etc .
I decided to have a look at vaping suppliers in NSW for when I get back, only to discover that it's illegal????!!!!!
So I have to go back to poisoning myself with smokes???
I have since researched loads but cant seem to get a straightforward answer as to whether I can continue to vape legally..looks like it's a black market setup ?
Can anyone clarify for me? Thanks.
PS I will be transiting in Dubai, and apparently I will be fined and my vape kit confiscated if I choose to carry it with me. (Cant put it in my checked in luggage due to the lithium battery)
What a load of bollocks it all is.

Your answers should be on the Aussie Vapers forum.

The exact laws vary from state to state and certainly in places, Nicotine liquid is not totally illegal and some 'importation for personal use' is permitted.

I am on there (the Aussie forum), but you'll never find me, nor do I follow the scene anymore. I signed up to rant about certain US/UK companies ripping off Australians. Companies I now boycott and persuade other people to boycott too.

Global franchise operations do not have any justification for distancing themselves from disgraceful opportunist behavior in other jurisdictions. Shame on these UK/US brands. May their profit shrink and their bank balances be cursed with red numbers.

Welcome and glad you joined.
If you can remove your battery(s) from your device, the device should pass security in your luggage. Carrying a battery(s) on your person in a proper safety container should be acceptable to customs. Built in mod battery may pose the most problems.
Regarding vaping in Sydney:
eCig and Nicotine Laws in Australia
You may like to visit Charle's site and them drop by (Vapers Table meets in Sydney, and they’re generally held in Hunters Hill, Gladesville, Top Ryde or the Sydney CBD district) and say G'day.
