Kevin Federline said he’s in a much better place with his ex-wife Britney Spears.

The 39-year-old full-time father and part-time DJ told Bravo’s Personal Space he co-parents sons Jayden, 10, and Preston, 11, with the 35-year-old pop star. He also shares custody of his son Kaleb, 12, and daughter Kori, 14, with his ex-fiancée, 40-year-old Shar Jackson. In addition, Federline has two daughters with current wife Victoria Prince. He remarried in August 2013.

“You fall into your routine and it’s really easy now,” Federline said about having positive relationship with his former flames. “It wasn’t always easy, but it’s a lot easier now.”

Federline also insisted he wants his children to have a special bond with their mothers. Jayden and Preston skipped the Father’s Day festivities to be with Spears, who is currently on tour in Asia.

“I’m used to not having all my kids, and this is gonna be one of those years,” he explained. “When you are co-parenting, you have to be willing to give up some of the things you would really like to do… I’m doing a vacation with some of the kids and my nephew.”

But when he does spend time with Jayden and Preston in particular, he makes sure to focus on their favorite past times.

“Preston kind of knows how to DJ,” said Federline. “He wants to learn more. I got him Ableton on his laptop, so he kind of messes with that. He hasn’t completely dived into it, and I don’t want to force him. I want to make sure it’s something he really wants to do. He’s really big in to the EDM (electronic dance music) trap music scene. He’ll come to me, ‘Have you heard this?’ Looking for music for me to play.”

Federline hopes to give quality time to all of his children, who get along just fine.

“Having six, it feels like you’re trying to control a basketball team. But it’s worth it,” he said. “All my kids are great; they get along. By the time you have six, you are so well seasoned. I can probably change a diaper with one hand and feed a kid at the same time.”
