Firefighters rescue elderly man, evacuate four others from burning building in Cheung Sha Wan
Blaze broke out in third-floor flat in block at junction of Wing Lung Street and Shun Ning Road
Firefighters rescued an elderly man after a blaze broke out in a third-floor flat in Cheung Sha Wan on Monday.
Four other people were evacuated from the building at the junction of Wing Lung Street and Shun Ning Road.
“The elderly man complained of feeling unwell and was taken to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment,” a police spokeswoman said.
Flames and dense smoke were seen coming from the burning flat. Seven fire engines and one ambulance attended the scene.
The Fire Services Department said that at about 3pm that firefighters were using a water jet to combat the blaze.
