TODAY the EU and UK's negotiating teams met together for the first time for official talks on Brexit.
David Davis and Michel Barnier shook hands this morning as they prepared to agree the timetable for our exit talks.
Michel Barnier said today that a good deal was possible, and "far better than no deal".
"We will work with the UK", he said, and "never against the UK".
Mr Davis said this afternoon that the day had been "very productive" and he was "encouraged" by talks.
"Both of us want to achieve the best possible outcome and the strongest possible partnership," he added.
