Blue meanie: The first Civic Type R looks resplendent in blue

Unless you've got deep pockets, you won't be buying the first Honda Civic Type R off the line.

It's being auctioned off on Bring a Trailer.

All proceeds from the auction are going to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Honda also auctioned off the first NSX to leave the production line, which fetched a cool $1.2 million on the auction block.

The auction will begin on June 7, and it'll end on June 15.

The Honda Civic Type R has already captured the Nurburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive production cars.

With 306 horsepower on tap, this hot hatch is going to scream.

A six-speed manual is the only available transmission.

Adaptive dampers are standard, as well.

There isn't a whole lot of cladding hiding the engine from view.

It doesn't really matter what the engine looks like, though, as long as it performs.

The interior is largely the same as the Civic, save for some Type R-specific elements in the dashboard and on the seats.

Navigation is standard for all US-market Civic Type Rs.

It wouldn't be a Type R without that shift knob.
