Introduction: Universal Night Table From Scrap Wood

From the scrap wood of my last instructable I kind of decided to built a night table. My goal was to Built a table that is not supported by legs on the floor but somehow holds on to the bed. As the bed is not yet in the "final parking position", this table should fit to either the right or the left side.

The "design" I came up with is rather simple and it should be universal in that way, that it can be adapted to fit to other beds as well!

Step 1: How Its Done

As you can see from the picutres, the design is rather simple. I glued the wooden support(s) to the top plate and then Screwed on the metal brackeds. It is worth investing some time when you screw on the metal brackets because you will either have some play (and the table will have a downward angle) or you will need to bend the bracket afterwards when you are not working precisely. Actually I inserted a piece of wood of the same thickness as the bedframe, when I screwed on (or marked the Holes) of the metal bracket. Information on sanding, routing and varnishing you will find in my Instructable on a Modular Bed .
