Longtime amfAR sponsor Harvey Weinstein almost didn’t get in to his own event.
A source tells THR that on May 25, he was walking to the Hotel du Cap gala by going up the hill near John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Though arriving on foot had been publicly decreed off-limits by amfAR and the Antibes police, Weinstein managed to circumvent several checkpoints before he was stopped by security. Yet Weinstein kept walking and talking on his phone until he was rushed by four French policemen, who chaperoned him to the gala gate.
His wife, Georgina Chapman, later was overheard chastising him for leaving her alone at the bash.
