Cult members break pastor’s head with pestle

The deadly Badoo Cult gang has struck again after they attacked a pastor with the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, using a pestle to break his head.

Lagos Police Command PPRO, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole

Punch reports that the gang members, in their usual modus operandi, had broken into the pastor's house on Obayemi Street, First Gate, Ikorodu, around 2 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017, while they were sleeping and attacked him.

The hoodlums were said to have smashed Pastor Solomon's head with a pestle and used sharp objects to stab him all over his body.

His saving grace was his wife who heard the commotion and the cry of pains and ran out of the house to call for help and before neighbours and other residents could mobilize to the place, the intruders had escaped, leaving the Pastor in a pool of his blood with the pestle beside him.

They were said to have alerted policemen from the Sagamu Road Division while Pastor Solomon was rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital, from where he was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, before he was referred to the undisclosed hospital where he is said to be battling for his life.

A resident who gave her name as Bola Odunsi, said the incident threw the community into commotion as they could not believe the gang could be that bold to attack a man of God.

“They invaded First Gate on Saturday and entered the man’s house while he was asleep with his wife and kids. They came with a big pestle which they used to smash the man’s head.

The noise woke up the wife and on sensing danger, she rushed out and called for help. People came out and saw the man bleeding from different parts of his body.

“On Saturday, June 10, 2017, at about 2.10 am, we got a report that a man was attacked by suspected cult members at about 2 am on the same date.

During the attack, he sustained injuries and was rushed to a public hospital for treatment. When we got to the scene of the incident, the hoodlums had taken to their heels. Investigations are ongoing.”
