An off-duty Los Angeles police motorcycle officer working security for a movie set shot and killed an aggressive dog on Friday afternoon.
The shooting occurred around 11:40 a.m. in the 400 block of South Main Street, LAPD media relations told The Hollywood Reporter.
While the unidentified officer was working, he was approached by a man and the two got in an argument, police said. It is unclear what they were discussing. At that time, a dog approached and began to act aggressive, police said.
The officer, who sustained minor injuries in the altercation, shot and killed the dog. The man, who is not being called a suspect at this time, has been detained, police said.
It is unclear if the shooting happened on or near the set.
