Abstract: The existing severity evaluation systems of acute pancreatitis (AP) mainly focus on the description of the pancreas parenchyma, with the shortage of detailed clinicopathologic analysis on the changes of the pancreas and peripancreatic fluid, which will influence the accuracy of the AP severity classification and prognosis judgement. Thus, this paper proposes to illuminate the occurrence and regression of the effusion under different AP stages from the view of pathological physiology. On this basis, the imaging techniques like ultrasound, CT and MRI are adopted to conduct system analysis and inductive comparison on the nature and change of peripancreatic fluid. This is helpful for the future research on the accurate classification of AP severity and the accurate prognosis judgment from the new perspective of imageology.
