The old cliché goes that fashion is a form of personal expression. I say that, if this is true, then track pants are the most expressive garment out there.
Let me explain my theory. There are few pieces of clothing which define a man the way his track pants do; track pants aren't jeans, which can only come in so many different styles, or trousers, which are, inevitably, variations of a handful of silhouettes and fabrics and prints and colors. A man’s track pants say everything about him because they, uniquely, have such a broad variety. There’s nothing like elevating your loungewear to be cool enough to wear out and about, whether you’re pairing your track pants with sneakers or chunky boots or, as rock icon Alex Turner once said, you’re simply wearing “tracky bottoms tucked in socks.” At the end of the day, the world isn’t your oyster—but the world of track pants sure is.
