(Im)proper Appliance Disposal – C/O Ventura Munitions

Friend of TFBTV, Ventura Munitions, caught my attention with an Instagram video post earlier this week. Enter the scene – a well groomed, green grass lawn dotted with trees and saplings. The air is clear with all the sweet sounds and smells of early summer. And then you notice the appliance – a refrigerator standing about 50 yards away.

Stage left is a man, comfortably dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, with evidence of what looks like a dead “Cat In The Hat” Suess character dangling from his back pocket. Bracing himself against the Y intersection of a tree, the man takes aim at the beige unit that appears to be just grazing in the short grass. Having his target cleanly in his crosshairs, our hunter fires with what he hopes is a fatal bullet, ending the journey that brought these two together.

No, nature (and physics) had other plans for these two star-crossed foes that day. Lashing out in a fiery show of force, the refrigerator strikes back with shrapnel that could have (should have) easily wounded our grey shirted hero. Luckily, Mother Nature saves him with the same tree he’s leaning against.

Is this the last time we will hear from our mysterious hunter? I think not.
