Hugh Jackman on Wednesday stumbled upon a real-life Mario Kart race happening in the streets of Japan, and he was just as excited to see it as any other fan of the game would have been.
The Wolverine actor showed his more than 8.4 million Twitter followers that the race was going on in the streets of Tokyo — right next to his car.
“We’re in Tokyo, waiting for the green light and who’s gonna…. Oh! It’s Mario Kart!” Jackman said, clearly aware of the popular Nintendo video game of which there have been multiple incarnations. “Princess Peach! They’re all there.”
Jackman kept the video going long enough for the light to change. At that time, the princess was in the lead, followed by Luigi and then Mario.
Jackman has been in Japan to promote Logan, which came out in Blu-ray in the U.S. on Tuesday.
