Style Library Contract recently named the winners of its first annual design contest. Competing NYSID students used products from Style Library Contract’s six brands—Anthology, Harlequin, Morris & Co, Sanderson, Scion, and Zoffany—to develop their own hospitality spaces. A hotel bar concept by Sylvia Sirabella called “Whisky and Velvet” took home first prize. Sirabella, who will graduate from NYSID in Spring 2018 with an MFA in Interior Design, will travel to the U.K. for a private tour of Style Library Contract’s archive and a meeting with the design team.

“This contest was a first of its kind for Style Library Contract and the hospitality industry,” says Carolyn Mitchell, Style Library Contract director. “We couldn’t have been more impressed with the talent and professionalism of the designs from the NYSID students.” Jurists included Bill Bouchey, director of interior design at HOK, and Helene Oberman, managing editor of Interior Design. Judges also chose designs by Natalia Merce Leuterio and Patricia Huamanchumo to be realized in Style Library’s New York showroom in the D&D Building this fall.
