In the beginning of the month, а Korean media reported that two new versions of the LG G6 dubbed LG G6 Plus and LG G6 Pro were expected to debut on June 27, and today LG has just announced the first one - the LG G6+.

The LG G6+ differs from the original flagship model with its 128 GB of internal flash storage, and with a wireless charging feature (“in some countries”), which was previously available only in the US version of the smartphone, equipped with 64 GB storage. The new LG G6+ also comes with high quality earphones from B&O PLAY.

The LG G6+ will be available in three colors: Optical Astro Black, Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold. The regular LG G6 also gets two of the new colors: Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold.

The company is also presenting a range of software enhancements for its LG G6 line including Face Print, Low Power Consumption and Covered Lens warning. The first one is the most interesting as it uses facial recognition to let users unlock their phones in less than a second by holding the handsets to their faces. The Covered Lens warning feature helps users prevent the LG G6 cameras from capturing unwanted fingers in the frame, while Low Power Consumption further reduces the phone’s power consumption. According to LG, the new features will come to all LG G6 units with a software update.

The availability of the update and the new LG G6+ are said to be announced “locally in each market.” In South Korea, the sales of the model are expected to be started in the beginning of July. No price details have been officially announced.
