We study how the brain changes as people grow up and learn new things. We are interested in basic mechanisms of brain plasticity, as well as in developing new strategies to support optimal development and learning. We are supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, CIFAR, the Jacobs Foundation, and the William Penn Foundation.

We believe that our science is better with a diverse team. We embrace and encourage our lab members’ differences in age, race, ethnicity, disability, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our lab members who they are.
