As part of this new Contrafabulists' project, we will be tracking on predictions that technologists make each week...

Harvard Business School professor (and the person who coined the phrase "disruptive innovation") Clayton Christensen has doubled down on his prediction that half of all universities will be bankrupt in 10 to 15 years. He first made this prediction in 2011, so we are now 4 to 9 years away, perhaps. Or maybe it's always 10 to 15 years in the future.

"Self-driving cars are expected to be much safer than human-driven ones. But even if the first robot cars hit the roads in the next few years, most of us probably won't give up driving entirely for at least another 15 or 20 years," The Atlantic predicts. Commercially available flying cars will arrive in five years.

"Cryogenically frozen brains will be 'woken up' and transplanted in donor bodies within three years, claims surgeon," The Telegraph reports. Well, Walt Disney is going to be stoked that Congress has maintained the copyright protections for Mickey Mouse movies.

Research and Markets predicts that the global cloud-based English language learning market will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.07% from 2017 to 2021.

Research and Markets also predicts that the artificial intelligence market in educaiton will grow at a CAGR of 47.50% during that same time period.
