Aqua Velva - which one ?

Hi there,

want to buy some Agua Velva but there are different bottles and sizes. I think that first is from Spain because of the spanish word Locion, but don`t know much about the others. Also I red in this forum that the american Agua Velva does`nt smell anymore like the original from the 80`ties, but the European Agua Velvas do.

First bottle got 400ml, the others 100ml or 200ml. Which one would you prefer and buy?

You can't go wrong with any of them. You are missing "Ice Sport", which I think is their best scent.

Buy them all. It's the true spirit of B&B. I don't think anyone here could identify any of them specifically in a blind use/smell test.

Lot of money to buy them all....:07:. Good thing, you can get them all here in Europe. Many members wrote that the scents are different.

#3 looks like the bottle I got here in the USA. They have recently changed the bottle here though. Looks like this now.

I've tried......

Aqua Velva Ice Blue (#3) - nice clean, refreshing scent, nice menthol tingle. I'm not a big fan of plastic bottles, but I can live with them. I like it, but it costs literally as much as it's worth for shipping from USA to Europe, so when it was gone, it was gone

Williams Expert Aqua Velva (#1 & #4) - I use this regularly, more subtle than Aqua Velva from USA, but very similar scent. Glass bottle has a classic, retro look and feel to it. VERY economical to buy in Spain - I can get a 200ml glass bottle from Carrefour, Eroski or Mercadona for €3,95

No experience with Aqua Velva Ice Sport

When I tried Aqua Velva Musk, I liked it, but chose not to pay shipping costs from USA to Spain to replace it when I used it up

O.k...seems that there are different opinions about that. Personally I never used Aqua Velva in the past.

I used Aqua Velva every day I shaved for almost 10 years back in the 80s into the early 90s. Then I switched to Pinaud Clubman. When I bought Aqua Velva again 2 years ago it smelled exactly the same. Absolutely nothing changed. Same old great scent. And it has glycerin & menthol. IMO the best cheap aftershave available.

I trust in your experience. :thumbup1:

Thank you for your input. The spanish Aqua Velva is easier to get here in Germany including the lowest costs of shipping.

I submit that henceforth, any post that asks, "which of these X should I buy?" should be followed with a chorus of simple, "buy them all". It's the B&B way.
