Motorola's mid-range lineup is about to get a bit bigger with the addition of a new smartphone, the Moto Z2 Play. The first press render of the handset appeared online about a month ago, but the picture was quickly followed by information related to its innards.

We've been reporting about the Moto Z2 Play almost on a weekly basis, but it's not until today that we're able to show you a high-resolution picture of the unannounced device. Although we're only offered a view of the front side, at least we can tell what color variations Motorola chose for the Moto Z2 Play: White/Gold, Black/Grey, and White/Silver.

Aside from a clear view of the upcoming smartphone, we also get to know when the Moto Z2 Play could be announced. An official ad states the smartphone will be unveiled on June 1. The Moto Z2 Play is likely to be introduced in Latin America initially, but we're expecting Lenovo to make it available in other countries as well.

Since the Moto Z2 Play was spotted not long ago on Geekbench, we've managed to learn a little bit about the phone's specs. As such, we're aware the smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, paired with 4GB RAM RAM.

Also, we know for sure the Moto Z2 Play will pack a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery inside since Lenovo has already confirmed this piece of information. Naturally, the smartphone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
