Known for their triggers, handguards, and a variety of other high-speed products, Geissele has been a long-time favorite of the special operations community. With their SSF (Super Select Fire) trigger being in many a firearm, the company has been expanding their offerings based on feedback from those Tier-1 units.

Responding to a USMC study that showed full-auto fire is more effective at hitting moving targets, Geissele has set its sights on getting the operator to full-auto faster. In the study, the USMC concluded that while there was higher moving target hit probability with fully automatic fire (let’s face it, what targets are generally standing still on a battlefield), too often critical time was lost from recognition of the target, manipulating the safety/selector, and ultimate engaging the target to the point that targets were behind cover before shots were loosed.

Reported and photographed over at our friends Solider Systems, Bill Geissele and team went to work on speeding up the time to engagement. Their solution? The High Speed Selector, which seems an obvious (and welcome) option for operators operating. In short, the High Speed Selector ditches the 90-degree throw in favor of the now common 45 degree throw. Thus, but using the thumb and not breaking their grip, one can go full giggle switch in almost no time flat.
