Abstract: Objective To investigate the role of pharmacists of pharmacy intravenous admixture services (PIVAS)in the rational use of drugs in the cardiovascular department. Methods A retrospective analysis of 175 irrational prescriptions of cardiovascular medicine from 2010 to 2011 was carried out. Responsible pharmacists carried out medication publicity and education according to the medication problems in order to promote the rational use of drugs. In 2012,the PIVAS trial software was applied;the number of cardiovascular medicine unreasonable doctor′s advice,cardiovascular medicine unreasonable doctor′s advice/annual general doctor′s advice proportion,cardiovascular internal wards unreasonable doctor′s advice changes were compared and analyzed. Results From 2010 to 2014,the number of unreasonable orders of cardiovascular department were 76,99,112,68,45;the rate of unreasonable orders in department of cardiology/total annual prescription were 0. 0829‰,0. 1050‰,0. 1166‰,0. 0672‰ and 0. 0357‰;unreasonable doctor′s advice in all wards of cardiovascular department showed downward trend. Conclusion We should give full play to the role of pharmacists to strengthen the ties between physicians,pharmacists,and nurses,in order to reduce the number of unreasonable medical orders to ensure the rational use of drugs.
