Abstract: Filaggrin gene (FLG), which encodes profilaggrin, is located on human chromosome1q21.3. FLG is associated with the epidermal barrier and the cell differentiation. The polymorphism of FLG gene is closely associated with atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis vulgaris as well as other diseases. The FLG gene and related diseases were reviewed in this article.
