Abstract: Objective To analyze the efficacy and mechanism of Fufang Shangtong Capsules in treating acute sprain of ankle (Xueyu Qizhi Zheng). Methods 60 patients with acute sprain of ankle were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group. The 30 patients in treatment group were treated with Fufang Shangtong Capsules;The other 30 patients in control group were treated with Celecoxib Capsules. The clinical efficacies of the two groups were compared. Results There was no difference between the two groups in terms of pain after treatment 24 h and 48 h(P > 0. 05). There was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of swelling after treatment 24 h and 48 h. Conclusion Fufang Shangtong Capsules is effective in treating acute sprain of ankle and can effectively relieve patients′ pain and swelling of the symptoms;it is safe,reliable and worthy of clinical promotion.
