Biography

Linnea Strom left ASU to start her professional career in winter 2017 prior to the 2018 spring season. She earned her LPGA Tour card in fall 2018.

Junior (2017-18):

  • Named Golfweek Preseason First Team All-American
  • 12th in Women's Amateur Golf Rankings to start the collegiate season
  • Earned top-10 finishes in all 4 fall tournaments she competed in, including top-5 finishes in the first two tournaments of the year
  • Won a point at East Lake Cup vs. Stanford and a half point in the team's win vs. Northwestern 

Sophomore (2016-17):

  • Finished T25th at the Women's World Amateur Championships in Mexico (Sept. 14-17)
  • Pac-12 First Team All-Conference
  • WGCA First Team All-American
  • Had 8 top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments played with a 71.79 stroke average
  • Set a new career low in round two of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, matching the score in round three of the PING/ASU Invitational
  • Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention 
  • Earned an exemption into the LPGA Tour's Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning and O-I in July 2017 and was the low amateur, finishing 1 under

Freshman (2015-16):

  • Finished in top-10 in four of her first seven collegiate tournaments (T9, T2, T9, 2).

  • Set her career low with a 67 on the first round of the Wildcat Invitational at Sewailo Golf Club.

  • Shot a season and career best six-under par at the Wildcat Invitational.
  • Finished the season ranked No. 6 in the nation
  • Shot a then career-low 69 in the Windy City Classic, good for a top 10 finish
  • Placed second in the Pac-12 Preview with a five-under 68, ahead of a top-five ranked opponent
  • Won her first ever conference championship appearance while setting the Pac-12 Championship 54-hole record with a 11-under 205 at the Pac-12 Championships
  • Named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month for the month of April after first, third and second in tournaments that month
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships
  • Named a First-Team All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association

International:

  • Placed 2nd in the 2015 Ladies British Open Amateur Championship.

  • Won the 2014 Spanish International Amateur Championship.

  • Took Gold Medal in the Mixed Team event at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympics.

  • Earned Gold Medal in the 2013 & 2014 European Team Championship.

  • Finished 1st in the 2013 Polo Golf Junior Classic

Personal:

Linnea is the daughter of Jonny and Helena Strom, who reside in Gothenburgh, Sweden. She has an older brother, Adam. Strom is a native of Hovas, Sweden. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, family and her dog, Sandy. Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies.
