22 Killed in Ariana Grande Manchester Concert Bombing

Ariana Grande’s concert tonight at Manchester Arena ended in panic and tragedy after a bomb killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 59 others. After the concert ended, at 10:35 p.m., two loud explosions were heard, sending concertgoers rushing out of the arena in a panic. British Transport Police reported that the bombing occurred in the arena’s foyer. In a statement, police say they’re treating it as “a terrorist incident” and are working with the UK’s national counter terrorism policing network and UK intelligence partners. They believe the attack was conducted by one man, who died in the blast, using an improvised explosive device. Grande’s representative has confirmed that the singer, who has tweeted a statement, is “okay” and that an investigation is being conducted, Billboard reports. Several firsthand accounts of the concert have emerged. David Richardson, who attended the concert with his 13-year-old daughter, told the Manchester Evening News that after the show ended, he heard the two blasts and then saw smoke. “Everyone just fled,” he said. “Some people were injured. We saw blood on people when we got outside. People were just running all over the place.”
