'Padmaavat' Row: Karni Sena workers detained for protesting outside CBFC office in Mumbai
With Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat' all set to reportedly release on January 25, 2018, members of fringe group Rajput Karni Sena, who are against the release of the film were detained by the Mumbai police to protesting outside the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) office in Mumbai. On Thursday, Karni Sena leader Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had threatened to protest outside the CBFC office and thousands more are expected to join the protest. The protesters are not happy with the CBFC's decision of giving a nod to the film with a change in title and some changes along with a U/A certificate. The film which stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are banned in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh whereas Goa's Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar confirmed that the film which is titled 'Padmaavat' now, would release in the state.
