The upcoming action figures in NECA's Alien: Covenant line have been revealed on #FacehuggerFriday, just as the new film makes its way into theaters. Thanks to the longevity of the Alien movie franchise since it began in 1979, toy - and collectible -makers have been blessed with a big enough market to continually produce product from all six films in the series. That, of course, includes lots of items based on Alien: Covenant, including some upcoming 1:6 scale figures from Hot Toys, as well as Xenomorph and Neomorph vinyl collectible figures from Funko.

NECA, meanwhile, has specialized in 7-inch scale figures from the Alien saga as well over the years, including figures of key characters – Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), Dallas (Tom Skerritt), Hudson (Bill Paxton) and Hicks (Michael Biehn) – as well as several creatures including Xenomorphs and the Alien Queen. And with the release of Alien: Covenant in theaters Friday, NECA gave its first look of the figures coming in the line in an announcement on Twitter.

The first wave in NECA's Alien: Covenant line includes a 9-inch Neomorph, a 10-inch Xenomorph and Creature Pack, which includes 2 facehuggers, an open egg, a closed closed egg, a poseable Neomorph toddler and 1 Chestburster alien. Take a look at the new figures in the tweet below:

NECA is clearly committed to the long-term prospects of its Alien action figure line, and with any luck, the company will be producing some human characters from Alien: Covenant, including Daniels (Katherine Waterstone), Oram (Billy Crudup), Lope (Demian Bichir), and Tennessee (Danny McBride). It seems within reason that NECA could even create a Walter (Michael Fassbender) figure, since it already created a David figure for its Prometheus line in 2012.

Whether NECA will reissue a David figure is yet to be seen (they've reissued Alien characters before, including a new two-pack featuring Hudson and Hicks), but the company clearly isn't done with its Prometheus line. Three unproduced figures from the film – Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace), Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) and a mutated Fifield (Sean Harris) – dubbed "The Lost Wave" will be released shortly.

Perhaps with a positive reception of Alien: Covenant line, maybe NECA will not only go on to produce human characters from the film, but dig a bit deeper into its Prometheus vault and give fans figures of Janek (Idris Elba, whose popularity has skyrocketed since the film's release), Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) and even Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce). And is it too much to ask for a Ridley Scott figure? He is the creator of the Alien franchise, after all.
