Kahr Adds Kryptek Camo Frames

    Kahr CW9

Kahr Firearms announced it was adding Kryptek camo finishes as an option on the frames of four pistols in its stable. The new guns use a water transfer process for applying the finish. Along with the new frame finish, the guns will have a Cerakote Armor Black finish on the slide, trigger and slide stop lever.

The smallest of the four guns is the CW3833KRT, more commonly called the CW380. This .380 ACP pistol is a subcompact pistol that weighs in around 10 ounces without a magazine. It holds 6+1 rounds and has a 2.58″ barrel. Kahr set the suggested retail price at $439.

The other three pistols with the Kryptek frame are all in 9mm. The first is the CW9093KRT that is also called the CW9. This is a fairly compact pistol, and one that I have carried on occasion (though in its original finishing.) It holds 7+1 rounds and has a 3.6″ barrel. It has a MSRP of $495.

The CM9090KRT is the Kryptek version of the CM9. The CM9 is a subcompact pistol that holds 6+1 rounds. I’ve found that it performs very well, but has a bit more recoil than some other subcompact 9mm pistols like the Walther PPS (both original and M2) and S&W Shield. Regardless, I’ve found it to be a good gun. This version has a MSRP of $499.

The final new Kryptek pistol is the CT9093KRT. This is the camo finished version of the CT9 pistol. I like the CT9 a lot for concealed carry. It is slightly larger than the others in this group with a 4″ barrel, but as a single stack, it is still very thin (0.9″ slide width) and about 20 ounces unloaded. With a full grip, it is very easy to shoot, and I’ve found them to be very reliable. The suggested pricing on this one is $477.
