Sandwiches are serious business, people.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to creating sandwiches, the community has been rich with controversy and disagreement for ages. Hardcore traditionalists and extremists just can't seem to agree what makes a sandwich a sandwich.

Thankfully, @Mattomic on Twitter created this very handy and inclusive sandwich chart that will help you decide exactly where you stand when it comes to sandwiches.

The x-axis of the chart focuses on your rules of ingredients, while the y-axis determines structure. For instance, an ingredient purist and a structure purist will make you a hardline traditionalist.

Given the fact that the chart needed to exist in the first place, it stirred up some serious controversy online, but at least now people know where they stand.

Merriam Webster was asked where they stand on the hot dog dilemma. The dictionary stated it is a "structural neutral, ingredient rebel," and linked to its definition of a sandwich.

TL;DR: The internet will never agree on what makes a sandwich a sandwich.
