Nominados a CDO del año en el 5th CDO Meeting
1. CHIEF DATA OFFICER FORUM 2017
Award Nominees
Top Influencing CDOs of 2017
2. The role of Chief Data Officer has risen in popularity over recent years in a range of industries - driven
by the need of C-level oversight of governance and analysis to steer and utlize the exponential growth
of information and the channels from which it can now be tapped. Data has moved from being a
backroom issue preoccupied with IT systems, compliance issues and data management to a boardroom
issue focused on strategy and competitive advantage. This role requires the skills to successfully lead
the charge with change management projects to realise corporate visions that will unlock short term
wins as well as long term progressive disruption in industry.
It’s not easy to balance these requirements. This complexity was indicated in a 2016 Gartner study which
determined that even though 90% of large companies will have a CDO role by the end of 2019, around
half of them will be“unsuccessful”in meeting their objectives.
The stakes are high when it comes to aligning with the digital revolution as a CDO. David Macmillan,
SVP Global Sales at Jive Software noted that the essence of digital transformation is hooked onto how
people’s digital behaviours are changing, and this is where Chief Digital Officers and their organisations
can gain competitive advantage.
Inevitably there are some trailblazers in the industry who have found the recipe for success when it
comes to being a CDO. With this in mind, ahead of the Chief Data Officer Forum, we asked a range of
data professionals to place their nominations for who they thought should win the CDO of The Year
Award.
Here we present our final list of nominees, the winner of which will be announced in the drinks reception
of the Forum in London on the 3rd May.
