So what exactly is Labour's Brexit policy? Voters still have NO CLUE, says DAVID DAVIS

IT'S not often I agree with Lord Mandelson.

David Davis has slammed Labour's Brexit policy

But this week I did, when . He said simply: "Search me!"

Today, despite Labour's attempt to paper over its hopeless divisions, voters are no clearer.

The choice on June 8 is one about who you trust to negotiate for Britain as it prepares to carve out its new place in the world outside the EU.

That choice is between Theresa May – who has steered the country so ably through the aftermath of the EU referendum – leading a strong and united Conservative Party, or Jeremy Corbyn, leading a weak and divided Labour Party, propped up in power by the Scottish Nationalists and the Liberal Democrats in a coalition of chaos.

Whatever the polls say, this is a very real choice. Every single vote on June 8 will count. It's the most important election in a generation.

Several Labour MPs backed Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour leadership election thinking he didn't have a chance and would enliven the debate.

David Davis: Labour’s Brexit stance undermines UK’s position

Labour has no plan for Brexit and no plan for Britain beyond Brexit

David Davis

Many, including my opposite number, Keir Starmer resigned last year because they thought him unfit to be leader of the party, let alone Prime Minister leading the vital Brexit negotiations. The British voters mustn't make the same mistake and let Jeremy Corbyn sleepwalk into Number Ten.

For one thing is clear – Labour has no plan for Brexit and no plan for Britain beyond Brexit.

Theresa May and the Conservative Party have set out a clear plan which will restore control over our money, laws and borders.

In the future, we want a deep and special partnership with the EU - one which is to the mutual benefit of all involved - and ensure that the UK is well placed to forge new links with the rest of the world.

Labour can't even agree on whether it really wants to end uncontrolled immigration.

And it has adopted a naive and I believe potentially dangerous approach in suggesting it would accept any deal dictated by the EU.

BBC host blasts Labour for having 'same Brexit policy as Tories'

Common sense tells us that's the worst possible approach to take. When buying a house or a car, would you state upfront that you are willing to agree to whatever the seller demanded? Of course not.

And while Labour may claim to respect the outcome of the referendum, it's clear to me that many of their MPs still think they might be able to overturn the result in the years ahead. They talk about a ‘meaningful vote' for Parliament on the final deal with the EU.

What they really mean is a veto over whether we leave the EU or not. After all, they've said they won't leave without a deal.

'Labour has no plan for Brexit and no plan for Britain beyond Brexit'

A strong Conservative Government is the only option which will provide certainty and stability.

Under the strong and stable leadership of Theresa May over the past ten months we've confounded the predictions of economic catastrophe and set out a clear plan for Brexit.

Now, on June 8, we need your support to get on with the job of building a strong, secure, truly Global Britain outside the EU.
