Video Of The Week #28: Lush Purr - (I Admit It) I'm A Gardener

Lush Purr: Tour Van playlist

Lush Purr will be heading out on their 2nd UK tour in May. To help pass those hours stuck in the back of the tour van a good music playlist is an absolute must. We have picked some of our favourites. Hope you enjoy and maybe we will see you around.

Beach Boys‘Vegetables’: A fantastic song about the joys of eating vegetables. Something you tend to forget when you are on tour when you have little choice but to eat from service stations.

Average White Band‘Love Your Life’: Still can’t believe something this funky could come out of Dundee.  Tribe Called Quest sampled it in ‘Check The Rhime’

Arthur Russell‘Habit of You’: Our friends at Fuzzkill Records in Glasgow, who originally released our album on Cassette, do a charity compilation every year around Valentines Day called ‘Under The Covers’. The 2017 compilation has been delayed but we have covered this song so look out for that when it comes out.

Prince‘Controversy’: Another song that we played a cover of. We have only played it once at the launch party of our friends DTHPDL. It was a lot of fun. We are all big fans of Prince’s work.

DTHPDL‘The Future’: Song, By Toad label mates, lovely bunch of guys and great band based in Edinburgh.

Sean Nicholas Savage‘Over The Night’: Sean lived with us for a month in 2015 to work on some new songs. He’s a real sweet guy and we had a blast. One of the highlights of his stay was a passionate rendition of Cat Stevens ‘Wild World’ in a football pub in Glasgow.

Steely Dan‘Peg’: If you ever come to a house party at our flat you can guarantee that at least one Steely Dan song will be on the playlist. I have stolen many a chord from these guys.

The Magnetic Fields‘Strange Power’: A band that had completely passed me by until discovering the Holiday album.

Jim Sullivan‘U.F.O’: Jim Sullivan mysteriously disappeared in 1975. Alien abduction was one of the possibilities mentioned.

Siouxsie And The Banshees‘Circle’: One of the more experimental songs by Siouxsie And The Banshees. Great use of tape loops and featuring Robert Smith from The Cure in the video.
