Your wedding matters.

There has never been a story like yours, so why should you have a wedding that’s already been done? I believe that the day you get married should be about the two of you; in your favourite place, with your favourite people, doing your favourite thing. Imagine a day that you don’t want to end, is stress-free, and is in a place you feel the most comfortable. Now imagine you get married that day and can relive those moments through photographs for years to come.

How you get married MATTERS because your relationship matters. If you can dream it, I can help you make it happen.

What does it mean to Elope?

Eloping means an intentionally planned wedding day.

It is easy to get caught up in what everyone has always done, but whether it’s only the two of you or includes your closest family and friends, an elopement should be the sum of your relationship and the things that fill your soul.

Why Elope?

Because getting married isn’t about place settings and seat covers. It’s about YOU and the commitment you’re making to each other.

To celebrate, wouldn’t you want to have the best day of your lives?

Sound great?

I want to elope but…

…I really want to celebrate with my friends and family.

First of all, it is very common to have guests at an elopement. However, the great thing about this idea of eloping, is that it is expanding the bounds of a wedding and getting married. If getting married is a celebration, why limit that to one day? Maybe you want to say your vows on a mountain top, but have a backyard dinner with your family. Maybe your family lives in different parts of the world; you can have several celebrations. The world is your oyster! Whatever your situation, there is a scenario that is a win-win for everyone, and I can help make that happen.

Does the idea of eloping resonate with you?

Perfect! You’ve come to the right place.

Hi! I’m Candice…

and I am your new biggest fan! I love good stories, the people that tell them, and exploring beautiful places. It’s crazy to say that I have been shooting weddings in Beautiful British Columbia for 8 years, and I love how every wedding I photograph feels unique and beautiful in its own way. My favourite part of the day is whenever someone tells a heartfelt story (usually through vows or a speech), and I often reflect on how lucky I am to be in a room of so much love.

Pemberton Elopement

“She was able to capture the day so perfectly…If we could do it all over, we wouldn't change a thing!”

Candice was amazing from start to end! Initially myself and my husband were totally overwhelmed planning our elopement. Candice was patient with us and put no pressure on us (this was huge for us) this enabled us to make decisions organically. She gave us so much inspiration and guidance to ensure our day was truly special, unique to us and most importantly fun!
Candice was an absolute joy to have around on our wedding day. Beforehand we were a little unsure about being infront of a camera but we felt so at ease and her use of humour made for some really natural photo’s. Candice was up for an adventure and even scouted some amazing locations in Pemberton for photos. She went above and beyond and even rescued my husband when our truck broke down to make sure he made it on time! The photos we recieved from Candice were absolutely incredible. She was able to capture the day so perfectly. We are so happy that we have these photos to treasure for the rest of our lives. An investment so worthwhile!
If we could do it all over, we wouldn’t change a thing!
If you are thinking about hiring Candice, you should! Not only is she an incredibly talented and passionate photographer but she is also an awesome character to have around on your wedding day!

Vancouver Island Elopement

“There are simply no words to describe how wonderful our experience was…”

Candice was the best addition to our little elopement and captured every moment so perfectly! Having a photographer was extremely important to us and she made sure everything was perfect and the results speak for themselves in her flawless captures. COVID planning was chaotic but Candice’s attention to detail made it effortless.
The value of her work was worth every cent and more. We had the bonus of being accompanied by her husband as well who helped us with dog wrangling and water bottle holding that helped out so much! We shared and so much amazing conversation and just overall good energy with the 2 of them we were lucky to have them as our witnesses.
There are simply no words to describe how wonderful our experience was and we are already planning another BC trip to do you do another romantic session on one of our anniversaries.

Lake Tahoe Elopement

“The images that she captured for us truly show just how at home and ourselves we felt with her…”

Candice was by far by far the sweetest and most talented photographer that we could have ever asked for shooting our elopement. My husband and I struggled between wanting a normal wedding or deciding on eloping. We were worried our families and friends would feel like it was a selfish decision, or that they were uninvolved with such a special moment in our lives. However, hiring Candice and the incredible photos she captured of our day really allowed our families to see the joy and love that we have for each other, as if they were there with us that day. She traveled with us to Lake Tahoe, which neither of us had ever been before, and made the experience feel like the area was a place she had shot at hundreds `of times. We were the most comfortable with her taking the lead on which locations would be the best to have the ceremony, and get some amazing shots at - but also allowing us to create the perfect and most romantic day. The images that she captured for us truly show just how at home and ourselves we felt with her, and they are something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. I would say hands down (and all of our family and friends would agree) her photos are absolutely stunning, there is no doubt in my mind that you will be absolutely thrilled hiring her for your elopement. Also, definitely elope- you absolutely will not regret it. Hands down, best day ever.

You might be wondering…

Here are some frequently asked questions from couples like you:

+ Do you travel for elopements?

Yes! I travel all over North America (including the USA) for weddings and other sessions, and am up for lots of adventures around the world if you want to take me there.

+ Can I invite friends & family to an elopement?

The short answer is yes of course! The long answer actually directs a question back at you; will having your family and close friends there uplift your experience and make it even more memorable, or will it stress you out and make you feel uncomfortable? Your answer will determine what you should do.

+ Will you help us figure out the logistics like location, timeline, other vendors, etc.?

YES! Not only will you get a VERY comprehensive guide to help with this, you’ll also get my personal guidance tailored to your needs. I know this part can be very overwhelming, so let me take the load off of you so you can focus on the fun parts!

+ Will you hike or camp for our elopement?

ABSOLUTELY. There is no mountain high enough and no valley low enough that I wouldn’t trek across for your elopement or adventure session. If you want a beautiful adventure but don’t know exactly where to go, I have tons of awesome suggestions!

+ What is an adventure session and why is it an awesome idea?

An adventure session is basically a fun adventure that also involves taking some photos in an epic location. This might be the day after your wedding in your wedding clothes, or maybe for your engagement photos before you get married. It could involve a hike in the mountains, a helicopter, a canoe ride, a trip to some hot springs, or snowshoeing in the outback. Regardless, it’s awesome, and I recommend them to everyone!

+ What happens if the weather is bad?

Ahh the dreaded question we all have to face when planning an elopement. There are many factors that contribute to my answer, but overall I ask each couple how they feel about weather scenarios. Based on that we think of a plan B whether it be a different location, time of day, extra equipment (aka an umbrella), or sometimes it means getting married the day before or day after if it’s in the forecast. Whatever the problem, it’s just something to solve, and I am here to help!

+ I hate being in front of the camera, how can you help?

Guess what, you’re not alone! Most people I photograph have some sort of fear of being in front of the camera. Even after all my experience photographing others, when the camera is pointed at me, I don’t know what to do. It is my responsibility that you feel comfortable and confident during a session or on your elopement. I will give you guidance and direction when needed and hopefully you’ll forget that there is a camera even involved.

Why I became an elopement photographer in Beautiful British Columbia…

To be honest, it chose me. I’ve travelled to a number of places, and while they are beautiful, I always feel most alive and my truest self here in BC. I grew up in Greater Vancouver, but I also lived in Alberta for almost 6 years for school, work, and met my husband, Mitch, there as well! It meant lots of road trips across both provinces and I was able to appreciate the beauty of the mountains and prairies.

Elopements have given me the gift to explore more of the west coast and rocky mountains than I would have on my own accord. The sound of the surf crashing on the beach in Tofino, the smell of the mountain air in Whistler, and the sight of the wildflowers in Manning Park; they all speak to my soul in a way that makes me feel at home and at peace. If you love the idea of visiting BC and don’t know where to start, you can visit Hello BC and start exploring all that this province has to offer!
