timeless001 GotanyIrishinya Chosen_One288 That's true and it isn't true.  The PS4 (an inferior console IMO) wiped the floor with the Wii U despite coming out significantly later.  Like, it was and continues to be a freaking bloodbath.  Sony (home console) systems just sell really well, I don't know what it is but they do.  The PS3 just seems to have been a fluke.

The direct event is not like the other presentations. Not even close..

QNoir GotanyIrishinya RPGs, JRPGs, 1st/3rd person shooters, brawlers, sports, RTS, turn based strategy, simulations, MMOs, racers, survival, ARPGs, minecraft like games, action games, tower defense, PvP games...the list goes on and on.If ignorance of PC gaming is causing you to miss out, you should try it...you will thank your lucky stars if you do.

Snk91 yeah I agree. plus it has a 4K Blu-ray player. what was Sony thinking not adding one in the pro? that in itself will sell the Scorpio. 

ddropthebass yeah I am hoping for a Onimusha announcement. It would blow my mind if that happens. 

Cooljoe No, it was a 360 exclusive...people think it is all Halo/Forza/Gears because that is what you hear on the internet, but there are other games out there, and better than those big names in my opinion. ...the game before it, just plain Culdcept, oddly enough was PS2 exclusive.  It switched from PS2 exclusivity to 360 exclusivity...pretty crazy.  The PS2 one was just about as awesome.

Cooljoe The main draw was that it was a completely unique experience...not like going from CoD to Battlefield or vice versa or any of the ton of other shooters out there. :P

Lol yea I like board games and liked the old magic the gathering games

Poor marketing message, the failure of the second screen gimmick to catch the imagination of the casual party gamers created by the Wii's motion control fad, significant third party support quickly dwindling into nothingness as initial sales of multiplats and third party exclusives failed to meet expectations. Wii U momentum was already slowing by the time PS4 and Xbox One came out.  

timeless001 Dreyfus2006 GotanyIrishinya Chosen_One288 Right, but I highlight it as a counterexample to your argument that timing, not power, is what determines the success of a machine.  In the case of N64 vs. PSX, Gamecube vs. PS2, and Wii vs. PS3, the (weaker) system who came out first sold more and was overall more successful (as far as the hardware is concerned).  However, in the case of the Wii U vs. PS4, the (weaker) system who came out first definitely did not sell more (even though I would argue the Wii U was better than the PS4).  The Dreamcast is another example, coming out before the PS2, GCN, and X-Box but not even living long enough to combat the PS2 face-to-face.The Wii U was the victim of a number of problems, but one could make that argument with the N64 and GCN.  It just reveals that which system sells the most is a multifaceted topic with many causes.

I bought the PS4PRO to complement a 4k tv and there is a big difference compared to the standard PS4. Sony did an excellent job in quickly delivering an improved console at a great price. Microsoft could learn a lot from this with their Scorpio launch

Yes indeed. The Pro is definitely a step above the base unit. That's the only thing getting me through until Scorpio. Scorpio will be like the Pro but better..

3 years in a row of straight killing it? One can hope

Hate to say it, but at this point, the ps4 is a runaway success. A freight Train with only Sony being able to put the brakes. All MS can do is start building a foundation that can put them back on track for next generation.

what  does that have to do with this article? 

I just want some fucking release dates, instead of a show highlighting games 3 years away.
