Daniel Farrands, who co-produced 2009 hit The Haunting in Connecticut, is set to direct a new supernatural horror based on the famed Amityville murders.
The Haunting on Long Island: The Amityville Murders will go beyond the story of the Lutz family and the house depicted in The Amityville Horror films, where 13 months earlier one of the strangest and most baffling mass murders of the 20th century occurred — the DeFeo family murders. While the Lutzes escaped from Amityville with their lives, the DeFoes weren’t so lucky.
Farrands directs from his own screenplay, with production set to start this summer.
CineTel films will be introducing the film to buyers in Cannes and will be premiering a teaser trailer and artwork at the market.
